Borescope
Since the parts that are most vulnerable to damage are not readily visible, Borescope inspection can be used to prevent unnecessary maintenance. It can detect damage from ingestion of foreign objects, wear, thermal damage, mechanical damage, corrosion, erosion, thermal deterioration, cracking, and distortion.
How Borescope Works
Borescopes are used to inspect visually for defects or imperfections where the area to be inspected is inaccessible by other means. This method is commonly used in the visual inspection of aircraft engines, aero-derivative industrial gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines, piping, various plant and machinery components, and automotive and truck engines.
